Background: In the current COVID-19 crisis, the necessity for respecting social distancing and making the new decisions by officials, and the closure of universities moved the classrooms to entire online home learning. Strategic planning allows the university to adapt its activities to meet the changing needs of the environment.Objectives: The present study aimed at explaining the viewpoints of students and evaluating the phenomenon of virtual education of students during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Virtual School of Medical Education and Management of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2020. Internal and external factors affecting this system were identified and analyzed. Methods: The present descriptive-survey described the conditions and characteristics of virtual education and surveyed students' viewpoints on factors affecting this system of education. Using the TOWS (Threats, Opportunities, Weaknesses, Strength) matrix,, the internal and external factor evaluation matrices were plotted, and the final score of each factor was achieved by determining its coefficient and rank, and proper strategy was formulated after analysis.Results: The TOWS matrix analyses showed the overtake of threats by opportunities and the exceed of strengths over weaknesses in factors affecting the virtual education, indicating the strategic status of the virtual education of the virtual school in the ST (strengths-threats) cell.Conclusion: Coronavirus outbreak is not the end of a pandemic, and there is still the risk of the emergence of other diseases and crises. The valuable experience learned from the Coronavirus era can be used in the development of virtual education in the studied and other faculties. Fortifying strengths, benefitting from opportunities, reducing weaknesses, and fixing threats can provide a suitable strategic basis for planning virtual education in Iran.

Background & Objective: Medical education is one of the most important challenges facing Iranian medical authorities Meanwhile Islamic Azad University as a nongovernmental authority for medical education has its own challenges and problems This study aimed to assess faculties perception to identify the challenges in this area to improve the achievement of educational goals and the quality of health care Methods: In this qualitative study in 2014 the conventional content analysis was done for 10 semistructured interviews with the faculty member of Islamic Azad University with experience interest and authority in medical school After implementation of interviews reviews were done several times The open coding system was used to generate initial categories for analysis Results: Analysis of data obtained from interviews with participants resulted seven themes including the public system abandoned the university despite the general acceptance ignoring students positive and negative characteristics problems of clinical faculty challenges of research area challenges in clinical education problems related to the field of interaction with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and improving strategies Each theme consisted of several subcategories and described the specific aspects of the challenges in this area Conclusion: It is expected that the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in the Stewardship of Health and Medical Education consider the clinical education in Islamic Azad universities in terms of planning and policymaking Islamic Azad University officials also should consider strategies within the organization

Background & Objective: In recent decades medical education has been expanding as part of the higher education system in the world Due to the complexities of clinical education the effect of various environmental factors on and changes in clinical environment the importance of accountability to society and patients and socially accountable medical education (SAME) challenges the exploration of faculty members perceptions about SAME challenges is necessary Thus the aim of this study was to explore faculty members perceptions on the challenges of SAME Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using qualitative content analysis in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Iran in 2014 Knowledge obtained through qualitative content analysis is based on the unique views of the participants and actual data of the text The participants were 8 faculty members who provided the most data on the fundamental factors effective on SAME (purposive sampling) Semistructured interviews were conducted with the participants and they were asked to describe their experiences of and views on SAME Data collection was continued until achieving data saturation Data collection and analysis were carried out simultaneously through consideration of trustworthiness Results: The main themes extracted in this study were defective education which is not communitybased lack of adequate commitment of teachers as role models lack of motivation in students and management problems and lack of resources Conclusion: The results of the present study illustrate the necessity for fundamental and comprehensive modification of training programs and improvement of their processes so that they can accommodate the communitys requirements Moreover there is need for strategies to increase motivation among teachers and students

Background & Objective: Numerous factors together are the cause of satisfaction with the field of education Thus the lack of presence of only one factor can reduce an individuals satisfaction or cause dissatisfaction with the field of study Satisfaction with study is an influential construct in the education process which consists of students perception of training programs the circumstance required for the community and teachers guidance Since learning has a strong relationship with satisfaction with the field of study the present study aimed to investigate the effect of feedback on interest in the field of study Methods: This quasiexperimental study was performed on all nursing students in their 7th semester in schools of nursing and midwifery in Arak and Shazand Iran in the first halfyear of 20142015 The students were undertaking their internship in the post coronary care unit (postCCU) of Amir Kabir Hospital of Arak Iran The participants were randomly divided into two groups of intervention and control Each group was divided into subgroups of 7 and 8 students and each group undertook their internship in 4 weeks in the morning shift To determine the effects of these methods after completion of each stage of the internship all students completed the questionnaire and the results were compared Results: 17 (944%) students in the intervention group were interested in nursing and only 1 (33%) student reported their lack of interest in the field of nursing A significant difference was observed between the intervention and control groups in this respect (P < 0007) Conclusion: It can be concluded that the feedback provided for the students during the training increased their satisfaction with the field of nursing

Background & Objective: The main purpose and role of higher education is to train professional workforce in the fields required by society through training them the necessary skills for their field. Today, the promotion of educational quality is considered as the basis of an authentic higher educational system. Therefore, the most efficient way to improve educational quality is educational evaluation in order to understand the success rate of faculty members on achieving this goal. Nevertheless, researches indicate that the evaluation of faculty members seems to be one of the most controversial issues of medical education and needs further attention and research. Obtaining faculty member's experiences, which is the main goal of this study, seems to be valuable. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to explore faculty member's experiences of the educational evaluation system.
Methods: The present qualitative study was carried out using content analysis in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, Iran, in 2013. Participants included 8 faculty members, who volunteered to take part in the study. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and purposeful sampling and continued until saturation.
Results: From the results, 3 main themes of lack of a clear objective for the evaluation system, inappropriate methods of evaluating faculty members, and the impact of their characteristics on the evaluation were achieved.
Conclusion: The study results show the necessity of comprehensive fundamental reform in the method of educational evaluation of faculty members, improvement of evaluators’ awareness and commitment, improvement of education quality, and ultimately, promotion of higher educational systems. Moreover, the provision of solutions for the enhancement of faculty members’ efficacy and motivation is required. On the other hand, it is essential to diminish their worries and concerns through creating an authentic, justice-oriented evaluation system, and ultimately, to achieve maximum improvement in educational policies and programs.

Background & Objective: Educational environment, with many components and interactions between inputs, processes and outcomes, has been considered as an integral part of the educational program. To assess these environments, several instruments have been used around the world. Due to differences in medical environments, using appropriate tools for specific environment, is essential and applying wrong tools may lead to confusion in the interpretation of results. The purpose of this paper was to introduce medical environments measurement tools and scope of these applications. Methods: We searched databases for qualitative and quantitative instruments used to measure medical education environments in the medical and clinical settings. Results: 8 instruments for measuring medical education environment at undergraduate and 11 instruments at postgraduate in five scopes identified and introduced. Conclusion: Knowing about measuring instruments and their proper use in assessment of medical education environments are of the key aspects in various stages of evaluation, modification, improvement, and development of educational programs.
