Background: Accreditation is one of the most important ways of guaranteeing the quality of medical education. Objectives: T he aim of this study was to determine medical university deputies’ and managers’ perspectives on the outcomes of institutional accreditation in Iran. Methods: T his was a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study conducted as a census to assess the views of the deputies and managers of 65 medical universities in Iran on the outcomes of institutional accreditation. T he research tool was a questionnaire consisting of items about institutional accreditation standards in various fields, which was provided to deputies and managers via email or in person. After data collection, data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 22.Results: T he results showed that from the perspectives of medical university deputies and managers, the outcomes of institutional accreditation were satisfactory in the dimensions of mission, management and goals, resources and facilities, faculty members, and student and cultural activities. Also, the outcomes were reported relatively satisfactory in research and staff training dimensions. T he dimensions of staff training and resources and facilities had the lowest (60.34 ±17.22), and highest (73.83 ±15.12) mean scores, respectively. Conclusion: Deputies and managers believed that institutional accreditation had satisfactory impacts on some areas according to the available resources and facilities. Since these areas have a close relationship, the desirability of each area also boosts other dimensions, which ultimately upgrades university credit and qualification.

Background Many factors involve in the process of education i.e., the teacher, curriculum, and learning environment. The educational climate has an exact and tangible relationship with the expectations and perceptions of students, especially students of medical sciences universities, and particularly, the graduate ones. Objectives The current study aimed at investigating the relationship between learning environment and expectations of graduate students at Kerman University of Medical Sciences, Kerman, Iran. Methods The present cross sectional study was conducted on 193 graduate students from April to July 2017. The subjects were selected by stratified random sampling and weighting methods from each faculty. Data were collected through Dundee ready education environment measure (DREEM) and SERVQUAL instruments. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression and Pearson correlation coefficient in SPSS. P < 0.05 was considered as the level of significance. Results Among the subjects, 62.2% were male and 52.0% single; however, 76.2% were masters’ students and 23.8% PhD candidates. From the students’ point of view, the educational climate had a better status among the learning environment dimensions. In terms of students’ expectations and perceptions of the learning environment, the tangibles and the client consideration dimensions got the highest mean scores as 42.8 and 88.8, respectively. There was a significant relationship between marital status and learning environment (P = 0.04). There was also a significant relationship between students’ perception of educational services and their semester number (P = 0.04). Conclusions It is better to use student-centered viewpoints in educational planning. Students’ satisfaction can be improves by providing appropriate learning spaces and optimizing the existing ones. Adjusting students’ expectations by familiarizing them with the line and staff constraints in higher education can play a significant role in enhancing the quality of educational services.

Background Interprofessional education is an approach aimed at preparing healthcare staff to provide patients with better services in a participatory atmosphere. As such, interprofessional teaching and learning across healthcare professions is very important. Considering the key role of faculty members in advancing the goals of interprofessional education, the present study sought to examine perceptions among faculty members about the concept of interprofessional education. Methods This descriptive cross-sectional study involved faculty members of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences. The interdisciplinary education perception scale (IEPS) was used to collect information. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, mean and standard deviation) and analytical statistics (t-test, Independent t-test and analysis of variance), and P ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Results The mean perception score of interprofessional education among faculty members was 3.71 ± 0.44. Although there was no significant difference between the perceptions of female and male faculty members towards interprofessional education (P = 0.104), there was a significant difference between the perception of members of different faculties towards interprofessional education (P = 0.037). In addition, there were significant differences among faculty members in perception towards interprofessional education (P < 0.001) according to their history of educational activity. Conclusions Considering the positive attitude of faculty members towards interprofessional education in the present study, the readiness of students for interprofessional learning in other studies and the positive implications of this educational approach in different areas of health care, it seems that educational planners in the field of medical education must investigate strategies and remove obstacles to implementation of interprofessional education in order to pave the way for its adoption in this domain.

Background & Objective : Human resources and their education is the core of development in different fields and motivation is the driving engine of learning Since changing in learners behavior needs to assess motivation related factors and their efficacy This research was aimed to study some factors affecting on students motivation in Golestan University of Medical Sciences Methods : In 2006 this descriptiveanalytic study was carried out on the students (n=535) who have at least passed one semester of clinical training course Data were collected by the Situational Motivation Scale (SIMS) and a researcher made questionnaire dealing with the related factors (the students welfare office college education educational and therapeutic center and career prospects) which its validity and reliability was approved Results : Among 474 participated subjects (response rate 886%) 732% are females no one was totally unmotivated and most of them (525%) are motivated There were direct weak and significant relationships between educational motivation and four related factors (P=0001) but it is not true for gender and field of study The least correlation factor (r=014) is related to educational and therapeutic center and the most to college education (r=024) Conclusion : In spite of the significant correlation between motivation and four related factors and below moderate motivation in 469% of the students we suggest universities educational authorities to pay enough attention to these points Although the career prospect is out of universities areas of responsibility and it seeks a great national attempt
