Background and Objectives Studying the factors affecting educational achievement is complicated as educational achievement is a multidimensional element and is delicately associated with physical, social, cognitive, and emotional growth of students. The current study aimed to predict educational achievements of students of medical professionals in Kerman University of Medical Sciences, Kerman, Iran, based on learning styles and mediation by educational self-efficacy. Methods The current correlational study was conducted cross-sectionally. The study population included all students of medical professionals in Kerman University of Medical Sciences, and, using Cochran’s formula, a total of 286 participants were selected by stratified random sampling. The Kolb learning style inventory and McIlroy and Bunting academic self-efficacy scale were used as data gathering tools. Current grade point average (GPA) was used to measure academic achievement. Data were analyzed using structural equations and model fitting indices in AMOS software. Results According to the results of the current study, there was a structural relationship between the learning styles mediated by academic self-efficacy and academic achievements. Additionally, results of the current study indicated the fitness of the model in the study population. Conclusions Results of the current study indicated the positive effect of different learning styles on academic achievements of students and that different learning styles can be employed to train students. On the other hand, the mediating role of academic achievements of students can enhance their academic achievements. By such methods, teachers can benefit from different educational strategies, and active learning occurs.

Background & Objective: Knowledge about the nature and types of learners learning styles can help teachers to adjust their teaching methods with students learning styles to achieve the desired educational outcomes This study aimed to investigate the relationship of students learning styles (based on Kolb learning Styles) and adaptive teaching method Methods: In this descriptivecorrelation study 250 students in ElmiKarbordi higher education center at Zahedan JahadeDaneshgahi Iran were selected via simple random sampling model For collecting the data the learning styles of Kolb and adaptive teaching method questionnaires were used The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and regression analysis tests Results: The amounts of correlation coefficient of assimilating divergent accommodating convergent learning styles and adaptive teaching method were 0810 0765 0795 and 0809 respectively (P < 0001) In addition based on the regression analysis of learning styles convergent (β = 0491) and divergent (β = 0300) methods had the greatest impacts on adaptive teaching method respectively (P < 0001) Conclusion: Given the positive and meaningful correlation between the learning styles with adaptive teaching method teachers of educational centers are suggested to use adaptive teaching method based on learningbased activities assessment of learners needs engaging students in the teaching process and flexibility for personal development

Background & Objective: The lack of critical thinking among students indicate that nursing education in achieving professional did not success and nurses foster thoughtful and it still remains a challenge in the world Accordingly in recent years learning styles new and creative methods of facilitating critical thinking such as studentcenter teaching methods have been given more attention The association between learning styles of postgraduate students with critical thinking in School of Nursing and Midwifery Kerman University of Medical Sciences was designed Methods: This was a descriptiveanalytical correlation with the study of 90 nursing students at the graduate level (Masters and PhD) university in 2011 and 2012 Instruments were two questionnaires California critical thinking form B and Kolb learning styles Results: There was a significant correlation between the critical thinking and teaching approaches (P < 0001) so that active teaching approaches students (studentcentered) were better trained in critical thinking Between learning styles and critical thinking were also correlated so that the converging style (1304 ± 267) and most accommodating style (382 ± 133) have the lowest average critical thinking Conclusion: The results of the studies one on revising instructional strategies current use of active teaching strategies to improve critical thinking and attention to individual learning styles are emphasized

Background & Objective: Learning style is a distinct behavior for gaining knowledge and skills through study or experience Personality is a series of relatively stable characteristics which distinguish a person from others The key to involving learners in the learning process is their preferences and learning styles and identifying factors affecting these variables In this regard the predictor variables of learning styles must be accurately identified so as to improve educational conditions This study aimed to determine factors predictive of learning styles of the students of Kerman University of Medical Sciences Iran In addition the impact of demographic factors on their characteristics will be discussed Methods: This was a crosssectional study Data collection was performed by a questionnaire including demographic data personality test (NEO) the Learning style inventory and the Kolb Learning Style Questionnaire For data analysis central tendency and dispersion measures chisquare Spearman correlation coefficient and logistic regression tests were used Results: The results show that most of the participants in this study were single women Mean age of participants was 2141 ± 296 years Most students (4431%) used assimilating learning style Based on the results of these personality types nearly a third of students (282%) were of the conscientious (responsible) character type The results showed that only gender is a predictor of learning styles Conclusion: More attention to students learning styles results in the perfect use of teaching practices and increasing and enhancement of students capabilities Moreover by identifying students preferred learning styles and changing teaching methods the students enthusiasm for learning can be increased

Background & Objective: One of the most important factors in students learning is their learning style whose identification helps to produce an optimal and effective learning program This study aimed to determine the learning styles in medical students and providing an appropriate teaching method based on their views Methods: This crosssectional study was conducted in 2011 on 276 medical students who were chosen by proportional to size method The means of data collection was a questionnaire which included three parts ie demographic factors Kolbs learning styles and questions about teaching methods Then the data were collected and analyzed Results: Learning style of most of the students was assimilator (471%) and the order afterwards was divergent style (268%) convergent (185%) and accommodator (76%) respectively The most appropriate teaching methods from the viewpoints of students were concept attainment ward report and caseconference methods No statistically significant association was found between the learning style and the variables of age gender academic year and material status There was a statistically significant association between the habitat of students and their wish to continue study however in urban students was accommodator and in students who wanted to study in postgraduate levels learning style was divergent Conclusion: Considering note that medical students have chosen concept attainment ward report and caseconference methods as appropriate pattern of teaching for their training this results are helpful for medical education system so that to improve students learning The lecturers had better bring studentcentered approach in which learners have an active role to learn rather than uniform teaching method such as lectures
