Background & Objective: One of the most practical and most recognized methods of needs assessment and educational planning is the Developing a Curriculum (DACUM) model Today this model is employed as a creative and effective method in occupation or profession analysis Methods: In the present study during 3 workshops in 2 days and by using DACUM method educational needs assessment and occupation analysis was performed on the educational administrators (assistant dean for educational affairs in schools heads of departments and vicechancellors for educational affairs in educational hospitals) of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences Iran Results of this process served as foundational elements to planning training programs for the educational administrators Results: The workshop resulted in the identification of 6 duties and 51 tasks for vicechancellors for educational affairs in educational hospitals 9 duties and 81 tasks for assistant dean for educational affairs in schools 16 duties and 98 tasks for heads of departments Moreover a list of associated knowledge skills tools equipment supplies materials used and desirable worker traits for this occupational category was provided Then using results of panels a questionnaire was designed in order to identify the importance learning difficulty and frequency of performance of duties and tasks In addition lists of general knowledge worker behaviors tools equipment and supplies and future trends and concerns were verified by respondents and the DACUM committee Conclusion: Finally based on the verified results and review of the literature a training program based on goals context and method of performance and evaluation was prepared in order to be used by educational administrators of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences

Background and Objective: Educational services should be provided to students in a way that they feel they are in a safe environment Since registration is the first stage of educational process this study was conducted to survey the students satisfaction of the registration process Method: This is a crosssectional study performed by stratified sampling from each faculty of Yazd University of Medical Sciences Data were collected by a questionnaire and analyzed using C hi square ttest and oneway ANOVA and through SPSS software Results: In whole 200 students ( 82 females and 116 males ) were studied From all subjects 175 ones ( 893%) had been registered without using internet of whom 96 students ( 696%) mentioned that it had been due to the lack of easy access to the registration programs A total of 109 students considered officials familiarity with the registration process desirable while 7 students ( 49%) considered it undesirable According to 109 students ( 599%) officials assistance in students registration based on their job duties had been desirable and only 5 students ( 27%) considered it undesirable Mean satisfaction rate based on students sex (P < 005) local and nonlocal residency (P< 005) and the universitys faculty (P

Background & Objective : The importance of considering general trainings of students and gaining updated knowledge together with curriculum overload and large volume of lessons especially in medicine necessitate presenting most of the students educational needs in form of short term courses Hence this study aimed to assess the participants point of view about the first national interdisciplinary summer school regarding achievement of educational objectives in Shiraz Methods : In overall 63 students from 13 universities of medical sciences participated in this course The topics were divided into four major groups including medical education medical ethics management ingenuity and creativity with their subgroups They were discussed in 83 issues during 100 working hours using lectures and other active educational methods Results : According to the students point of view the highest educational efficiency belonged to medical education and then to ingenuity and creativity More than 90% of executers mentioned that achieving educational objectives in each subgroup was very good or excellent According to the evaluation the mean score ( ± SD) of the programs executers and lecturers was 1897( ± 118) out of 20 Conclusion : Considering the effectiveness of this program continuing such a program allocating resources and developing them should be noticed in all universities
